Cyberspace and the Shaman : Cybershamanism 2; by Micheal Teal, The Ancient One

Micheal Teal, our resident shaman, takes us on a world wide web tour of cybershamanism. He explains how one small action on your part can make a difference in the world of global shamanic health.

Greetings from The Ancient One. In the previous issue of Psychic Tymes I touched upon cybershamanism. I would like to once again dive deep into the waters of cyberspace in an attempt to bring you wisdom and truth that touches the soul.

A shaman has the knowledge of a thousand winds and cyberspace provides a platform through which not only the shaman, but everyone one of us, can have global impact. The World Wide Web if used properly can be a harmonic space where shamans as caretakers of the earth can teach, inspire, heal, educate and enlighten.

The internet allows not only the shaman but all who venture in cyberspace the opportunity to have political, social and global impact. One way to greater life fulfillment is to be globally active in an effort to create universal well being. Organizations such as Greenpeace, Amnesty International, the World Wildlife Fund, Warchild and the Rainforest Action Network; all have websites. Within these sites you are not only kept abreast of world events, you are also given the opportunity to sign petitions, write to political prisoners, make donations and contribute to humankind in ways that are remarkable and life enriching. Through groups like these we are driven to find our own truth, free our spirits and walk a path woven of divine light.

There are many sites, global and local, who provide access to the addresses and email addresses of political leaders across the globe. As a shaman and as a man I am honoured to have the means by which I can share my sacred earth purpose with those who make policy. I implore all of you to create a heaven on earth by not only contacting your own leaders and local officials but also contacting leaders of all lands in an attempt to promote peace and invoke the growth of the soul.

When we share our wisdom, compassion, spirit and soul with others we awaken to our own ancientness. We, ourselves, become shamans - architects of the cosmos - something as simple as signing a petition or contributing a poem to a site like 'Poets against War' inspires others to achieve and fosters an essence of love, light and understanding. You can dance the sacred dream by respecting the sanctity of all life and by taking an active role in global concerns. Each voice creates waves of spirit whose ripples inspire others to live their own greatness.

The Sacred Balance by David Suzuki

Based on the authors' best-selling book The Sacred Balance: Rediscovering Our Place in Nature, this visual feast celebrates the forces that unite all living things. The accompanying text presents David Suzuki's inspiring view of the human place on Earth, drawn from his life as a scientist, environmentalist, writer, and thinker. He describes the seven elements - earth, air, fire, water, biodiversity, love, and spirituality - that all human beings need to lead full, rich lives.

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.
~Native American Proverb

The World Wide Web also offers me the opportunity to cross paths with other light beings in the making; people of spirit and substance who teach us all. One such person is Richard Lunging Bear, a Native Storyteller and Sacred Dance practitioner, who uses his many gifts to help heal others thereby contributing to the health and welfare of us all. His site www.saynotheindianway.com is a sacred dwelling place where he shares his wisdom in an attempt to offer alternatives to those who might, or may, or have already fallen victim to drugs and alcohol abuse. Richard is a messenger of hope, a unique and gentle loving spirit whose vision and leadership helps those blest to cross his path live the life they deserve. He is a man of trust and integrity whose words and actions are nectar for the heart and soul.

As a cybershaman I use my site and internet skills to promote causes, organizations and people. Another such soul is Kamlesh Rajesham whose book 'Straight from the Soul' is rich with sacred knowledge and profound truths. Kamlesh, in her writings and on her sites www.soulcommunications.com and www.soulcityinc.com, engages the spirit with clarity and hope. She has knowledge that serves as a bridge to the sacred within. Truth can be beautiful and Kamlesh helps us to venture down enlightened paths and see the beauty within each and every one of us. Sensitive and encouraging she travels the creative path of life, exploring whispers from deep within her soul. She is a treasure beyond value and I am wiser and more open to experiencing joy and fulfillment through knowing her.

One more person I would like to mention is Chocolate Waters, a poet whose writing is refreshingly alive. With her words she ignites the flame of one's soul. Every poem is a deeply meaningful expression of her sacred life energy. Her words are a brush that paints a picture of creativity and divine inspiration. The song within her heart is one of substance and vibration. Through her poems she navigates life's challenges, creating a watering hole for the spirit. With naturalness and grace Chocolate Waters serves as a catalyst for our consciousness' evolution. The exploration of the human condition in her work is a banquet of food for the soul. She can be found online at www.chocolatewaters.com.

Conclusion

The beauty of the web is that when used properly it can educate, enrich and enlighten. We need no longer be silent. We can celebrate and promote heaven on earth by seeking to contact other light beings in the making and by being globally responsible. The earth breathes with wisdom and grace when we share of ourselves. Through cyberspace I have crossed paths with poets, psychics, authors, shamans, healers, artists, politicians, activists, musicians, mystics and more. The internet is a fertile garden where we can all plant seeds of integrity, truth, respect and peace. When you search and seek online do so with spiritual eyes. As collective souls we can become a universal consciousness thereby creating a positive transformation all around the world.

As a cybershaman I have written articles, columns, reviews, poetry and more for numerous publications. I have done television, radio and have been written about in newspapers and magazines. Much of them began with a simple email. I have been able to touch lives from England to Canada to Turkey and numerous other places around the globe. I have found the door to enlightenment in waves of spirit and positive energy on the World Wide Web. The internet is filled with streams of positive vibrations. I have not only given much online I have received much. I have received nourishing words which inspire the spirit from those I have placed on my healing list; I have received sweet sage, candles, figurines, divinatory materials and more from my mentor, Buffalo Bear Walks with Wolves. I have received a myriad of books from authors, CDs from musicians and artwork from artists, all because we crossed paths online and I was able to impart a transforming message that was life enhancing and connected people to their divinity.

In closing let me say that my intent is to follow the path of the white wolf thereby stimulating others to positive life transformation. Use the web wisely; raise your own vibration while searching for meaning and while giving others a reason for hope.
