From the editor

Welcome to the new edition of Psychic-tymes. It has been sixteen months in gestation; a long time. Why, you may ask? Our intrepid editor (who also lays out the ezine, nags our contributors for their copy, and is the general dogsbody) spent a lot of 2005 suffering the after effects of pneumonia. This was followed by the whole of 2006 nursing an ailing parent through terminal lung cancer. But for all those problems the ezine was still there, bubbling away on a back-burner until it could be given full attention once more.

So here it is - issue 18 has reached fruition and is now available on the internet for your delectation. What is in this issue; some of our old favourite authors and a new one to grace our pages.

The ghost page has three articles for you to read and wonder over. Brandy looks at 'Art, religion, psychology in the 19th and early 20th centuries as part of her history of the paranormal and the occult series. It is a very deep article and takes some reading. I have written up a wonderful adventure I had in Ottawa, Canada during a visit to that country in 2005. Two interesting ghosts encountered in one night! Martin and I even came away with a picture of a ghost; considering I do not believe that ghosts can be photographed it is certainly one for the books. See if you think it is a ghostly face or just light bouncing off the walls. Let us know your thoughts on it. Also the page sees the appearance of a new writer, Paul Dale Roberts. He went on his first ghost hunt in Jackson, California and sent in his piece describing the experience. I always enjoy encouraging new writers so I hope you will like his piece as much as I did. He illustrated his article with photographs of orbs; so, there are two articles with ghostly photographs on one page.

Our psychic problems page covers a case of suicide. From time to time I get asked about what happens to people who commit suicide in my role as a medium. I gave our reader advice on how to help the troubled soul pass on and illustrated post suicide problems further with my own personal experiences. I hope that this page will help those out there with their own situations regarding the sadness and grief caused by a suicide within your own circle.

Our psychic development page has Janet Cyford describing how spirits communicate to her; and how she identifies who they are (Spirits often do not tell you their name because they are really concerned with getting their message across). Like Janet, I find that getting a sensible name out of a discarnate soul is hard. This is why when a medium says 'his name is Fred, or George, or her name is Mary'; truthfully that may well be all that they can get. It leaves us mediums open to a lot of teasing. Claire Greenberg also reviews two interesting books for us; both written by people with mediumistic talents; Mystic Alice Morgan and Mia Dolan. I hope the reviews will inspire you to read the books.

Our shaman page sees Micheal Teal, The Ancient One With Heart Of Buffalo Journeys With Spirit Of White Wolf, write a second part to his concept of Cyber-shamanism. He also takes us on a tour of some interesting web sites dealing with environmental issues.

Nan Hawk is our guest writer in this issue for Tessa Moonbeam's Shopping Online page. Nan has written for earlier issues of the ezine covering Wiccan issues and helping design the Wiccan page. She shares with us some of her favourite inspirational music. As you know by now Tessa passed away a while ago. She has visited me in her discarnate form and insisted we carry on with her page so we are doing it the best way we can - with guest writers - that way we can cover different types of online shopping for your amusement.

Our Wiccan page is hosted by Sophie Childs. Last issue saw her first appearance in our pages when she discussed Pagan Parenting issues. This issue she looks at curses and cursing. I hope you will find the piece as educational and eye-opening as I did.

Well folks, those are the contents of the eighteenth issue of Psychic-Tymes. It is our intention to get the next issue up during the summer of 2007. Goddess' and Gods' willing no more extreme situations will happen to stop it!

Best wishes to all of you,
Judy Farncombe
